The short version: ChatSnapAI reads and exports your AI conversations entirely on your own device. Your conversations, notes, prompts, and backups never leave your browser and are never sent to us or anyone else. The only information that ever leaves your device is your license key, used solely to confirm an active Pro subscription. We do not run analytics, show ads, track you, or sell data.
ChatSnapAI ("the extension," "we," "us") is a browser extension that lets you export and save conversations from supported AI chat platforms to formats such as TXT, Markdown, JSON, CSV, PDF, Word, HTML, EPUB, and PNG. This policy explains exactly what the extension does and does not do with your information. It applies specifically to the ChatSnapAI extension and is written to match the data disclosures in our Chrome Web Store listing.
When you use the extension, it reads the content of the AI conversation on the page you are viewing so it can format and export it. This processing happens locally, inside your browser. The following is read and/or stored on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party:
Because this data never leaves your device, we have no access to it, cannot see it, and never collect it.
If you purchase ChatSnapAI Pro, the extension needs to confirm that your subscription is active in order to unlock paid features. To do this, it sends the following to our licensing server (hosted on Cloudflare) and to our payment provider, Creem:
This is the only network communication the extension makes, and it transmits no conversation content of any kind. It occurs when you activate a license and periodically afterward (about once a day) to re-check that the subscription is still valid. Validation requests are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and are used for one purpose only: verifying your subscription.
Purchases are handled on our website by Creem, which acts as the merchant of record. Payment and billing details you enter at checkout are collected and processed by Creem under Creem's privacy policy, not by the extension. The extension never sees or stores your payment details.
The extension requests the minimum permissions required to do its job:
activeTab / scripting — to read the conversation from the tab you are actively viewing when you trigger an export.downloads — to save your exported files (PDF, Word, Markdown, etc.) to your device.storage / unlimitedStorage — to keep your sticky notes, prompt library, settings, and local backups on your device.contextMenus — to add right-click menu options for quick exporting.The extension does not request access to <all_urls>, your browsing history, your cookies, or any other broad permission.
The extension does not download or execute any remotely hosted code. All of its code is contained in the package you install from the Chrome Web Store.
Conversations, notes, prompts, backups, and settings live on your device and remain entirely under your control. You can delete them at any time from within the extension or by clearing the extension's data, and they are removed when you uninstall the extension. License and subscription records associated with a purchase are retained by Creem and by us as needed to operate your subscription and meet legal and accounting obligations.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data, and the right not to have your data sold (we do not sell data). Because nearly all of your information stays on your own device, much of it is already directly within your control. ChatSnapAI is a productivity tool intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Our handling of information obtained through the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use the information only to provide and improve the user-facing features described on our Chrome Web Store listing and in the extension itself, and for no other purpose.
If we change how the extension handles information, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
